Nicknamed the "Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas sits in the middle of a desert in the southern section of Nevada.Step out of the city life by going to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and Helicopter Tours. For shopping fun, head to The Strip or The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Las Vegas: Grapevine Mesa Joshua Trees (in Meadview), Spring Mountains Visitor Center (in Mount Charleston) and Veteran's Memorial Park (in Boulder City).
