Amritsar, India to Waitomo Caves is an approximately 24-hour combination of flight and car. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 6.5 hours traveling from Amritsar to Waitomo Caves. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Wed) to allow time to drive to Hamilton.

Get out of town with these interesting Hamilton side-trips: Nikau Walk & Kaniwhaniwha Caves (in Karamu), Raglan (Stand-Up Paddleboarding & Bridal Veil Falls) and Alexander Organics (in Cambridge). You can drive from Waitomo Caves to Hamilton in 1.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 26th (Sun) early enough to drive to Auckland.

Step out of Auckland to go to Orewa and see Orewa Lookout, which is approximately 52 minutes away. Dedicate the 1st (Wed) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Sky Tower, head off the coast to Tiritiri Matangi Visitor Centre, observe the fascinating underwater world at SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium, and walk around Auckland Domain.

Getting from Hamilton to Auckland by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or take a train. In February, daily temperatures in Auckland can reach 26°C, while at night they dip to 26°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) early enough to catch the flight back home.
