Getting from Reykjavik to Hofn by flight takes about 3 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. In March, plan for daily highs up to 5°C, and evening lows to 0°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Tue) early enough to go by car to Svinafell.

On the 22nd (Wed), take in the dramatic natural features at Svinafell Glacier, then enjoy the sand and surf at Fellsfjara, and then contemplate the waterfront views at Fjallsarlon Iceberg Lagoon. On the next day, don't miss a visit to Svinafellsjokull Glacier, then take in the dramatic scenery at Svartifoss Waterfall, and then explore the activities along Lac Polaire.

You can drive from Svinafell to Vik in 2 hours. Expect a daytime high around 4°C in March, and nighttime lows around 1°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 26th (Sun) so you can go by car to Grundarfjorour.

On the 27th (Mon), take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Kirkjufell Mountain and then take in the dramatic scenery at Kirkjufellsfoss.
