There's much more to do: stroll through Svetilnik Beach, make a trip to Tartini Square, look for all kinds of wild species at Škocjanski Zatok Nature Reserve, and pause for some serene contemplation at Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower.

Barcelona, Spain to Portorož is an approximately 8-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and shuttle. Traveling from Barcelona in August, expect little chillier with lows of 20°C in Portorož. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Thu) early enough to drive to Bovec.
