Turin — 17 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Step out of the city life by going to Langhe landscapes and River Rafting & Tubing. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Castello di Issogne (in Issogne), Cumiana (Zoom Torino & Team Adventure) and Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi (in Stupinigi). There's still lots to do: get engrossed in the history at Museo Egizio, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, and don't miss a visit to Piazza Castello.

If you are flying in from South Africa, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In May, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 12°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 31st (Fri) early enough to travel back home.
