You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Het Koto Museum and Celestial Tours Suriname. Historic Inner City of Paramaribo and Stichting Villa Zapakara voor Kind & Cultuur are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Paramaribo with an excursion to Museum Bakkie in Reynsdorp--about 1h 10 min away. There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Peter and Paul Basilica, snap pictures at Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge, admire the striking features of Dutch reformed church, and take in the exciting artwork at Ready Tex Art Gallery.
