Brasov County travel guide
Brasov County is characterized by its diverse landscape and architecture. Situated in northern Romania, it has the Carpathian and Persani Mountains on one side and the Brasov Depression and Olt River Valley on others. The small German population within Romania tends to reside in the city of Brasov and the surrounding area. As a result, the influence of German architecture and culture is more noticeable here than in the rest of Romania. The economy of Brasov County is one of the strongest in the country and although there are various industries here, tourism thrives. From mountain resorts to medieval fortresses to old cities, it has plenty to offer.
