The city of Evora functions as a museum of Roman origins and medieval times.
Step off the beaten path and head to Igreja de Sao Mamede and Ermida de Sao Bras. Visit Convento da Cartuxa and Mother Church of Sta Maria for their historical value. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Evora: Estremoz (Herdade das Servas - Enoturismo & Joao Portugal Ramos Wines). There's still lots to do: surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour, explore the ancient world of Cromeleque dos Almendres, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Convento dos Loios, and admire the landmark architecture of Garcia de Resende Theater (Evora).
