The cultural, economic, and political center of the country, Vienna has developed from its early Celtic and Roman roots into a medieval and Baroque city, with an old town that was designated a World Heritage Site in 2001.
Head to Vienna Naschmarkt and Xocolatfor plenty of shopping. Get outdoors at Donauinsel and Nationalpark Donau-Auen. There's still lots to do: explore the historical opulence of Schonbrunn Palace, explore the world behind art at Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, admire the striking features of Rathaus, and wander the streets of Graben and Kohlmarkt.

Doha, Qatar to Vienna is an approximately 9.5-hour flight. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Doha to Vienna. Prepare for much colder weather when traveling from Doha in July: high temperatures in Vienna hover around 32°C and lows are around 19°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Thu) so you can fly to Lucerne.

Lucerne, Switzerland — 3 nights

In north-central Switzerland, Lucerne represents a small city boasting a well-preserved old town.
Escape the urban bustle at Lake Zurich and Titlis. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Bahnhofstrasse and Altstadt Luzern. Take a break from Lucerne with a short trip to Lindt Factory Outlet Kilchberg in Kilchberg, about 48 minutes away. There's much more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Mt Pilatus, contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Lucerne, pause for some photo ops at Lion Monument, and snap pictures at Chapel Bridge.
