The largest and most populous city in New Zealand, Auckland combines a rich history and thriving contemporary culture in an abundance of museums, art galleries, and performance venues.

Step out of the city life by going to Piha Beach and Mission Bay Beach. Sculptureum and Auckland Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Auckland: Warkworth (Pohuehue Waterfalls, Reptile Park, &more) and Brick Bay Sculpture Trail (in Snells Beach). If you are flying in from New Zealand, the closest major aiports are Auckland International Airport and Hamilton International Airport. Expect a daytime high around 14°C in August, and nighttime lows around 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Tue) early enough to catch the flight to Vancouver.

You can fly from Auckland to Vancouver in 16.5 hours. The time zone changes from New Zealand Standard Time (NZST) to Pacific Standard Time (PST), which is usually a -20 hour difference. While traveling from Auckland, expect much hotter days and about the same nights in Vancouver, ranging from highs of 28°C to lows of 17°C.
