The financial hub of Switzerland, Zurich is most often associated with money and banks.

Visiting Mt Pilatus and Lake Zurich will get you outdoors. Venture out of the city with trips to Astrid-Kapelle (in Kuessnacht am Rigi), Lucerne (Hofkirche, Chapel Bridge, &more) and Rhine Falls (in Neuhausen am Rheinfall). You can drive from Zurich to Engelberg in 1.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or do a combination of bus and train. December in Engelberg sees daily highs of 5°C and lows of -1°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 17th (Sat) so you can go by car to Interlaken.

Nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz in the heart of the Jungfrau region, Interlaken became popular for its proximity to the mountains and lakes of the Bernese Oberland region.

Getting from Engelberg to Interlaken by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of taxi and bus; or take a train. While traveling from Engelberg, expect little chillier days and about the same nights in Interlaken, ranging from highs of 1°C to lows of -4°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 19th (Mon) to allow time to take a train to Zermatt.

Best known as home the Matterhorn mountain, Zermatt serves as a chic ski resort town of the Swiss Alps.

You can take a train from Interlaken to Zermatt in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 23rd (Fri) early enough to drive to Montreux.

Mostly known for its world-renowned jazz festival, Montreux serves as a picturesque lakeside resort town on the Swiss Riviera.

Take a break from the city and head to Premier Alpine Centre and Rochers-de-Naye. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Montreux: Maison de la Foret (in La Tzoumaz), Tour Bayart (in Saillon) and Ski Service (in Verbier). The adventure continues: contemplate the long history of Chateau de Chillon, hunt for treasures at Christmas Market in Montreux, go for a walk through Montreux Lakeside, and appreciate the history behind Freddie Mercury Statue.

Geneva brings the world to one small city with a huge expat population and the highest number of international organizations in any one city.

Take a break from the city and head to Lake Geneva and Bains des Paquis. Step out of Geneva to go to Nyon and see Chocolaterie Alexandre, which is approximately 36 minutes away. There's lots more to do: admire the local landmark of The Geneva Water Fountain, test your team's savvy at popular escape rooms, admire the natural beauty at Jardin Anglais, and see the interesting displays at Patek Philippe Museum.

Drive from Montreux to Geneva in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train. In December, plan for daily highs up to 6°C, and evening lows to 0°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 30th (Fri) so you can travel back home.
