Step off the beaten path and head to Koyasan Okunoin and The Tower of the Sun. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Osaka: Sakurai (Hase-dera Temple, Tanzan Shrine, &more), Koya-cho (Koyasan Danjo Garan, Kongobu-ji Temple, &more) and Toshodai-ji Temple (in Nara). And it doesn't end there: get in on the family fun at Universal Studios Japan, admire the landmark architecture of Umeda Sky Building, take a stroll through Dotombori District, and contemplate the long history of Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine.

You can take a train from Kyoto to Osaka in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In November, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 10°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Tue) early enough to catch the flight back home.
