Outback Capital of the Northern Territory

The smallest of Australia’s state capitals, Darwin has nevertheless become an attractive and important urban center, being simultaneously one of the country’s most modernized cities and a gateway to both the Top End region and South East Asia.
Darwin is known for wildlife, museums, and theme parks. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: get a dose of the wild on a nature and wildlife tour, look for all kinds of wild species at Crocosaurus Cove, see the world from above with a helicopter tour, and examine the collection at Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

Perth to Darwin is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. The time zone difference moving from Australian Western Standard Time (AWST) to Australian Central Standard Time (ACST) is 1.5 hours. Traveling from Perth in April, expect Darwin to be a bit warmer, temps between 38°C and 28°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive to Jabiru (Kakadu National Park).

Situated right in the heart of Australia, Alice Springs serves as an urban oasis deep within the country’s parched, desert-like Red Center.
Go for a jaunt from Alice Springs to Stuarts Well to see Cannonball Run Monument about 1h 15 min away.
