Traveling by car from Busan to Gyeongju takes 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or take a train. When traveling from Busan in May, plan for little chillier days in Gyeongju, with highs around 18°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 18°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 14th (Sun) to allow enough time to fly to Sokcho.

Get out of town with these interesting Suncheon side-trips: 5.18 Memorial Park (in Gwangju), Boseong Green Tea Field Daehan Dawon (in Boseong-gun) and Gurye-gun (Hwaeomsa Temple & Saseongam Temple 四聖庵). There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Songgwangsa Temple, examine the collection at Seonamsa Seongbo Museum, and get to know the fascinating history of Nagan Eupseong Folk Village.
