In February, daily temperatures in Guanajuato can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 9°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 6th (Mon) so you can travel to Valladolid.

One of the gateways to the ruins of Chichen Itza, Valladolid boasts plenty of historic charm and offers a range of tourist-oriented services that ensure pleasant holidays in this area.

On the 6th (Mon), delve into the distant past at Ek Balam and then don't miss a visit to Palacio Municipal. Keep things going the next day: explore the world behind art at Casa de los Venados, then stroll through Xkopek Parque Apicola, and then Head underground at Cenote Zaci.

Getting from Guanajuato to Valladolid by combination of flight and shuttle takes about 6.5 hours. Other options: drive; or do a combination of taxi and bus. Traveling from Guanajuato to Valladolid, you'll lose 1 hour due to the time zone difference. Expect a bit warmer weather when traveling from Guanajuato in February: highs in Valladolid hover around 36°C, while lows dip to 28°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 8th (Wed) so you can catch the shuttle to Tulum.

Step out of Tulum to go to Coba and see Zona Arqueologica de Coba, which is approximately 48 minutes away. Spend the 12th (Sun) among aquatic life with a scuba or snorkeling tour. Take a shuttle from Valladolid to Tulum in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In February, Tulum is a bit cooler than Valladolid - with highs of 31°C and lows of 21°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sun) so you can go by car to Bacalar.

Bacalar is the municipal seat and largest city in Bacalar Municipality (until 2011 a part of Othón P. Blanco Municipality) in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, about 40km north of Chetumal, at 18° 40' 37" N, 88° 23' 43" W. In the 2010 census the city had a population of 11,084 people. Kick off your visit on the 20th (Mon): contemplate the waterfront views at Cenote Cocalitos and then explore the activities along Lake Bacalar.

You can drive from Tulum to Bacalar in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a shuttle; or take a bus. When traveling from Tulum in February, plan for a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Bacalar: temperatures range from 36°C by day to 23°C at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 21st (Tue) early enough to catch the flight to Puerto Morelos.

A small seaport at the tip of Yucatan Peninsula, pleasant Puerto Morelos offers a good alternative for visitors seeking a quieter beach vacation with plenty of tourist amenities.

When in Puerto Morelos, make a side trip to see San Gervasio Mayan Archaeological Site in Cozumel, approximately Cozumel away. There's still lots to do: indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas, whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks, stroll through Toolok kaa'n, and don't miss a visit to Parroquia Catolica de San Jose.
