When traveling from Anchorage in March, plan for a bit cooler days and cooler nights in Fairbanks: temperatures range from 23°F by day to -3°F at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 22nd (Wed) so you can catch the flight to Denali National Park and Preserve.

Take a break from Denali National Park and Preserve with a short trip to Alaskan War Veterans Memorial in Talkeetna, about 1h 25 min away. Alternatively, you can do a combination of train and ferry; or do a combination of bus and ferry. Traveling from Denali National Park and Preserve in March, expect somewhat warmer with lows of 27°F in Juneau. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 29th (Wed) to allow time to travel to Sitka.
