Nicaragua's largest and capital city, Managua remains relatively unknown as a tourist destination, though it boasts a scenic location on the southwestern shore of the Xolotlan Lake.

Get out of town with these interesting Managua side-trips: Granada (Catedral de Granada, Palacio Episcopal, &more), Chocoyero-El Brujo Natural Reserve (in Ticuantepe) and Ruins of Leon Viejo (in Leon).
