While traveling from Toronto, expect much warmer days and somewhat warmer nights in Kathmandu, ranging from highs of 21°C to lows of 3°C. Getting from Kathmandu to Sauraha by combination of car and flight takes about 2.5 hours. Other options: take a bus; or drive. Traveling from Kathmandu in January, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be somewhat warmer in Sauraha, with lows of 9°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 20th (Fri) so you can catch the flight to Pokhara.

Pokhara, the second largest city in the country, attracts visitors with its superlative natural wonders and easygoing atmosphere.

Let the collections at Gurkha Memorial Museum and International Mountain Museum capture your imagination. Peace Temple and Barahi temple will appeal to history buffs. You can fly from Sauraha to Pokhara in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In January in Pokhara, expect temperatures between 23°C during the day and 9°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Tue) to allow enough time to fly to Lumbini.

An important place of Buddhist pilgrimage, Lumbini represents the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha.

Visit Maya Devi Temple and Royal Thai Monastery for their historical value. Ranighat Palace and Kudan Stupa are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Lumbini to go to Tansen and see Shree Amar Narayan Temple, which is approximately 1h 25 min away. Traveling by flight from Pokhara to Lumbini takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of car and bus. In January, daytime highs in Lumbini are 22°C, while nighttime lows are 11°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 27th (Fri) to allow time to travel back home.
