Tourism in Shari-cho, a small town situated on Hokkaido's eastern tip, flourishes mainly because of its immediate proximity to the Shiretoko World Heritage Site.

Lima, Peru to Shari-cho is an approximately 37-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from Peru Standard Time (PET) to Japan Standard Time (JST) is 14 hours. In June, Shari-cho is slightly colder than Lima - with highs of 20°C and lows of 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Sat) early enough to drive to Yoron-cho.

Traveling by car from Shari-cho to Yoron-cho takes 60 hours. Traveling from Shari-cho in June, you will find days in Yoron-cho are somewhat warmer (33°C), and nights are much warmer (28°C). Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Mon) to allow time to drive to Kunigami-son.

Although the village of Kunigami-son spreads across a large area, it remains sparsely populated, with lots of wild land protected from development.

Kick off your visit on the 12th (Tue): look for all kinds of wild species at Daisekirinzan, take some stellar pictures from Cape Hedo, then head outdoors with Adan Beach, and finally look for all kinds of wild species at Gallirallus Okinawae Learning Center. You can drive from Yoron-cho to Kunigami-son in 4.5 hours. June in Kunigami-son sees daily highs of 34°C and lows of 29°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Onna-son.

Located on the coast in the middle of the island, Onna-son has become known for its beaches and seaside economy.

Visit Nirai Beach and Akabaka Beach for some beach relaxation. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Emerald Beach and Manza Beach. You can do a combination of bus, flight, and ferry from Onna-son to Iriomote-jima in 6.5 hours. Expect a daytime high around 37°C in June, and nighttime lows around 32°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 21st (Thu) to allow time to travel to Kumejima-cho.

The town of Kumejima-cho spans several islands, including the main island of the same name.

Do a combination of ferry, flight, and taxi from Iriomote-jima to Kumejima-cho in 7 hours. In June in Kumejima-cho, expect temperatures between 35°C during the day and 30°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 24th (Sun) so you can travel to Yakushima-cho.

In June, Yakushima-cho is a bit cooler than Kumejima-cho - with highs of 30°C and lows of 24°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 28th (Thu) so you can go by car to Amami.

Set on the island of Amami Oshima, the city of Amami serves as an oasis for tourists.
