3 days in Ruhengeri & Rubavu Itinerary

Kigali to Ruhengeri is an approximately 2-hour car ride. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Kigali in October, expect Ruhengeri to be slightly colder, temps between 26°C and 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Rubavu.

On the 1st (Tue), witness a stunning natural landmark at Nyamyumba Hot Springs and then trek along Congo Nile Trail.

Traveling by car from Ruhengeri to Rubavu takes an hour. Alternatively, you can do a combination of bus and car. Traveling from Ruhengeri in November, expect a bit warmer with lows of 20°C in Rubavu. Finish your sightseeing early on the 1st (Tue) to allow enough time to drive back home.
