Newark to Telluride is an approximately 6-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and taxi. In July, Phoenix is much hotter than Telluride - with highs of 106°F and lows of 85°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 9th (Sun) to allow enough time to fly back home.
