You can drive from Seoul to Gangneung in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a train; or take a bus. Traveling from Seoul in October, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be slightly colder in Gangneung, with lows of 60°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Thu) early enough to fly to Gyeongju.
