Columbus — 3 nights
The Discovery City
More than just one of the nation's top business centers, Columbus is a mixture of many different parts of America, situated at the spot where the so-called "Bible Belt" meets the varied cultures of the Great Plains and Appalachia.Change things up with a short trip to Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Powell (about 30 minutes away). The adventure continues: test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, take a stroll through Short North Arts District, take in nature's colorful creations at Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and deepen your understanding at Ohio State University.
To see more things to do, where to stay, other places to visit, and tourist information, you can read our Columbus online sightseeing planner.
Newark to Columbus is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of train and bus. In September, plan for daily highs up to 79°F, and evening lows to 58°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Tue) to allow enough time to fly back home.
