Eureka — 3 nights
Eureka is the principal city and county seat of Humboldt County in the Redwood Empire region of California. Visiting Kayak Trinidad and Black Sands Beach will get you outdoors. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at The Immortal Tree and Moonstone Crossing Winery Tasting Room. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Eureka: High Water Mark (in Weott), Briceland Vineyards (in Redway) and Trillium Falls Hike (in Orick). There's much more to do: get engrossed in the history at Clarke Historical Museum, look for all kinds of wild species at Samoa Dunes Recreation Area, hike along Hammond Trail, and learn about winemaking at Clendenen's Cider Works.
