Montreal — 3 nights

Quebec's Metropolis

Quebec's economic and cultural capital, Montreal serves as the province's major point of entry, known for its rich history and high standard of living.
Get a sense of the local culture at Biodome de Montreal and Quartier des spectacles. Get some historical perspective at Notre-Dame Basilica and Lieu Historique National du Canal-de-Lachine. Venture out of the city with trips to Mont Tremblant (Domaine Saint-Bernard & Aventures Neige), Alaskan Adventure Dog Sledding (in Arundel) and Mont Saint-Sauveur (in Saint Sauveur des Monts). There's much more to do: hunt for treasures at Atwater Market, steep yourself in history at Place Vauquelin Fountain, see Cirque du Soleil, and look for all kinds of wild species at Kanatha-Aki Nature Activity Center.

Toronto to Montreal is an approximately 3.5-hour combination of ferry and flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Traveling from Toronto in December, things will get slightly colder in Montreal: highs are around -1°C and lows about -7°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 1st (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
