4 days in New Taipei & Taichung Itinerary

When in New Taipei, make a side trip to see National Palace Museum in Shilin, approximately Shilin away. The adventure continues: hunt for treasures at Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street), explore the striking landscape at YehLiu Geopark, take a stroll through Ximending, and shop like a local with Taipei 101.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to New Taipei is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of car and ferry; or do a combination of train, bus, and ferry. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to New Taipei. When traveling from Ho Chi Minh City in March, plan for much colder days in New Taipei, with highs around 25°C, while nights are little chillier with lows around 17°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 1st (Sat) early enough to catch the train to Taichung.

Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Sun): get a sense of history and politics at Wanchungong, then get curious at National Museum of Natural Science, then look for all kinds of wild species at Gaomei Wetland, and finally make a trip to Dajia Jenn Lann Temple.

You can take a train from New Taipei to Taichung in 1.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In April in Taichung, expect temperatures between 30°C during the day and 21°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) to allow time to fly back home.
