4 days in San Francisco, Napa & Sonoma Itinerary

Start off your visit on the 31st (Thu): buy something for everyone on your list at Ferry Building Marketplace, then head off the coast to Alcatraz Island, then see the interesting displays at Cable Car Museum, and finally take a stroll through Union Square. On the next day, trek along Lands End, then snap pictures at Golden Gate Bridge, then visit a coastal fixture at Fort Point, and finally see the interesting displays at Walt Disney Family Museum.

You can drive from San Francisco to Napa in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of subway and bus; or take a bus. Traveling from San Francisco in September, expect slightly colder with lows of 51°F in Napa. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sat) so you can go by car to Sonoma.

Kick off your visit on the 3rd (Sun): awaken your taste buds at some of the top wineries in the area.

Sonoma is just a short distance from Napa. In September, daytime highs in Sonoma are 81°F, while nighttime lows are 52°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 3rd (Sun) early enough to drive back home.
