One of the world's most ancient cities, Athens remains Europe's undisputed historical and cultural capital.

Acropolis Museum and Acropolis of Athens are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Appreciate the collections at National Archaeological Museum and Benaki Museum. Venture out of the city with trips to Nikolou Winery (in Koropi), Nemea (Ktima Palivou, Monastery of the Dormition Rock Nemea, &more) and Temple of Poseidon (in Sounio). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Plaka, step into the grandiose world of Fortress Palamidi, get engrossed in the history at Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation, and stop by Monastiraki.
