45 days in Ljubljana, Maribor & Bled Itinerary

Sitting astride the Ljubljanica River, Ljubljana is marked with picturesque bridges and a marketplace, designed by the famous architect Jože Plečnik.

Dusseldorf, Germany to Ljubljana is an approximately 6-hour combination of flight and shuttle. You can also drive; or do a combination of flight and train. Expect a bit cooler evenings in Ljubljana when traveling from Dusseldorf in February, with lows around -2°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 16th (Thu) so you can catch the shuttle to Maribor.

Cycling may be one of the best ways to tour Maribor, a great base for exploring the surrounding area and conquering Pohorje Mountains.

You can take a shuttle from Ljubljana to Maribor in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. In February, plan for daily highs up to 7°C, and evening lows to -2°C. You'll have a few hours on the 3rd (Fri) to wrap things up before traveling to Bled.

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
