Laganas — 45 nights

Change things up with these side-trips from Laganas: Black Cave (in Kallithea), Anafonitria (Monastery of St George Kremnon & Navagio Beach (Shipwreck Beach)) and Vardiola of Kypseli (in Kypseli). There's lots more to do: get outside with Infinity Beach Club Zante, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church Agios Nikolaos of Molos, soothe aching muscles at Out to Explore, and enjoy the sand and surf at Laganas Beach.

For reviews, more things to do, where to stay, and other tourist information, read Laganas trip maker website.

Athens to Laganas is an approximately 2.5-hour flight. You can also take a bus. April in Laganas sees daily highs of 24°C and lows of 13°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 1st (Thu) to allow time to fly back home.

Flower of the East
Located just off the west coast of mainland Greece, Zakynthos enjoys a reputation as both a party destination and a family-friendly getaway. Packed with foreign tourists along its eastern and southeastern coastline, the island also features numerous tranquil pockets in its central region of forested mountains and rolling hills. Avoid the overcrowded east by discovering the island's less-explored northern sections, which contain a series of deep caves that feature sun reflecting on seawater and white stones, creating a striking shade of azure particular to this part of the world. The northern capes of the island also offer the calmest waters, which lap a string of developed beaches with plenty of modern facilities.
