A truly contemporary city criss-crossed by history, Baku offers everything from the modern elegance of the Flame Towers to the medieval UNESCO-listed Old City at its core.Museum-lovers will appreciate Gobustan State Reserve and Ali Shamsi Studio. Baku Old City and Baku Boulevard are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Dedicate the 18th (Mon) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's more to do: see the interesting displays at Heydar Aliyev Center and shop like a local with Nizami Street/Torgovaya.
