Grand Rapids — 4 nights

Furniture City

The second largest city in Michigan and a hub of furniture manufacturing, Grand Rapids bears the nickname "Furniture City." However, the destination's original name came from the rapids of the Grand River that once ran through the downtown area.
Kids will enjoy Room Escape Games and Lake Michigan. Get out of town with these interesting Grand Rapids side-trips: St. Joseph Lighthouses (in Saint Joseph), Gilmore Car Museum (in Hickory Corners) and Holland (Holland State Park Beach & Saugatuck Dunes State Park). There's lots more to do: admire the natural beauty at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, hike along Cascade Peace Park, see the sky in a new way at Grand Rapids Public Museum, and look for all kinds of wild species at Blandford Nature Center.

To see photos, more things to do, other places to visit, and more tourist information, refer to the Grand Rapids online trip maker.

In April, daytime highs in Grand Rapids are 56°F, while nighttime lows are 36°F.
