Getting from Skagway to Valdez by car takes about 14.5 hours. Other options: do a combination of ferry and flight; or do a combination of bus and shuttle. In September, daytime highs in Valdez are 54°F, while nighttime lows are 44°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) to allow enough time to drive back home.
