You can fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang in 3.5 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a train. In August, daily temperatures in Da Nang can reach 40°C, while at night they dip to 30°C. You'll have a few hours on the 16th (Wed) to wrap things up before traveling to Hue.
