Naypyidaw — 2 nights

Naypyidaw, officially spelled Nay Pyi Taw is the capital city of Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). Take a break from Naypyidaw with a short trip to Kyauktalon Taung (Hillock) in Mawlamyine, about 7h 45 min away. There's lots more to do: don't miss a visit to Uppatasanti Pagoda, look for gifts at Myoma Market, get engrossed in the history at The National Musuem, and learn more about the world around you at The Gem Museum.

Yangon (Rangoon) to Naypyidaw is an approximately 2.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a bus. In April in Naypyidaw, expect temperatures between 34°C during the day and 34°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 13th (Mon) so you can drive to Taunggyi.

Taunggyi — 3 nights

A major trading city in the mountains, Taunggyi offers good access to the plains and hills of the state.
Taunggyi is known for historic sites, parks, and sightseeing. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: take in nature's colorful creations at Floating Gardens, take in the spiritual surroundings of Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, don't miss a visit to Khit Sunn Yin Lotus, Silk and Cotton Hand Weaving Centre, and delve into the distant past at Indein Village.
