Bethesda — 59 nights

Bethesda is a census-designated place in southern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located just northwest of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C. It takes its name from a local church, the Bethesda Meeting House (1820, rebuilt 1849), which in turn took its name from Jerusalem's Pool of Bethesda. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like The Adventure Park at Sandy Spring and Rocking S Ranch. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bethesda: Harpers Ferry (Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, Appalachian National Scenic Trail, &more), Fairfax Station (Burke Lake Park & Fairfax Station Railroad Museum) and St. Michaels (Boat Tours & Water Sports, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, &more). Spend the 26th (Sat) exploring nature at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. There's much more to do: examine the collection at Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, view the masterpieces at Waverly Street Gallery, contemplate the waterfront views at Great Falls Park, and explore the landscape on two wheels at Capitol Crescent.

For where to stay, reviews, other places to visit, and tourist information, read Bethesda trip planner.

In March, plan for daily highs up to 53°F, and evening lows to 34°F.
