Founded in the 10th century as a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has morphed into the cultural, political, and economic powerhouse of the country.
Visit The Karen Blixen Museum and Trinitatis Kirke for their historical value. Step off the beaten path and head to Landbohojskolens Have and Zenzes Wellness. Get out of town with these interesting Copenhagen side-trips: Frederiksborg Slotskirke (in Hillerod), Sporvejsmuseet Skjoldenaesholm (in Ringsted) and Store Heddinge (Hoejerup Gamle Kirke & Stevns Klint).
