Wake Forest — 59 nights

Wake Forest is a town in Franklin and Wake counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina; located almost entirely in Wake County, it lies just north of the state capital, Raleigh. Family-friendly places like Clemmons Educational State Forest and Clayton River Walk will thrill your kids. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Wake Forest: Louisburg (Laurel Mill & Alpaca Dreams), Occoneechee State Park (in Clarksville) and Staunton River State Park (in Scottsburg). There's still lots to do: admire the majestic nature at Falls Lake State Recreation Area, view the masterpieces at Cedar Creek Gallery & Pottery, explore the activities along Lake Phoenix SCUBA Park and Family Campgrounds, and see human ingenuity at work at John H Kerr Dam And Reservoir.
