Lancaster — 6 nights

Red Rose City

The heart of Pennsylvania's famous "Dutch Country," Lancaster is one of the nation's oldest inland cities, founded in 1730.
Take a break from Lancaster with a short trip to Wolf Sanctuary of PA in Lititz, about 34 minutes away. There's still lots to do: contemplate the long history of The Amish Farm and House, pause for some serene contemplation at St. Joseph's Church, experience rural life at Lapp Valley Farm, and get engrossed in the history at Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.

For other places to visit, more things to do, traveler tips, and tourist information, refer to the Lancaster road trip planning website.

Durham to Lancaster is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. Traveling from Durham in May, things will get little chillier in Lancaster: highs are around 72°F and lows about 52°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Mon) early enough to catch the flight back home.
