Pune has long enjoyed a reputation as a center of culture and commerce, with many dynastic rulers making the town central to their regional plans in the centuries before the British Raj.

Kids will appreciate attractions like Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple and Aga Khan Palace. Venture out of the city with trips to Imagicaa (in Khopoli), Lonavala (Lion's Point, Wax museum, &more) and Shooting Point (in Khandala). There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Sinhagad Fort, hunt for treasures at Phule Market, examine the collection at Darshan Museum, and take in the spiritual surroundings of ISKCON NVCC Temple.
