Cassis is a commune situated east of Marseille in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southern France.It is a popular tourist destination, famous for its cliffs (falaises) and the sheltered inlets called calanques. Get out of town with these interesting Cassis side-trips: Port Grimaud (in Grimaud), Port Grimaud 1 Beach (in Port Grimaud) and Cogolin (Parcours Decouverte : Les Activites Traditionnelles de la Vallee de la Mole & Chateau Des Garcinieres). Next up on the itinerary: take a leisurely stroll along Port de Cassis, go for a stroll along the water at St. Tropez Harbor, kick back and relax at Plage de Pampelonne, and head off the coast to Ile des Embiez.
