8 days in Chattanooga, Outer Banks & Williamsburg Itinerary

Bring the kids along to Creative Discovery Museum and Fishing Charters & Tours. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Cloudland Canyon State Park and Coolidge Park. Take a break from Chattanooga with a short trip to G3 Adventures in Rising Fawn, about 38 minutes away. New York City to Chattanooga is an approximately 5.5-hour combination of flight and car. You can also drive; or take a bus. Expect somewhat warmer weather when traveling from New York City in June: highs in Chattanooga hover around 89°F, while lows dip to 68°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Tue) so you can fly to Duck.

On the 7th (Wed), head outdoors with Outdoor Activities, see Off-Road Tours, then look for gifts at Waterfront Shops, and finally relax and rejuvenate at Village Yoga.

Traveling by flight from Chattanooga to Duck takes 5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus, train, and taxi. Traveling from Chattanooga in June, you will find days in Duck are a bit cooler (83°F), and nights are about the same (70°F). Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Wed) early enough to go by car to Manteo.

On the 8th (Thu), enjoy the sea views from Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse, contemplate the long history of Island Farm, then stop by The Christmas Shop, and finally identify plant and animal life at Nags Head Dolphin Watch.

Traveling by car from Duck to Manteo takes an hour. June in Manteo sees daily highs of 82°F and lows of 70°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 8th (Thu) early enough to go by car to Williamsburg.

On the 9th (Fri), make a splash at Water Country USA. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 10th (Sat): walk around Newport News Park, walk around Sandy Bottom Nature Park, and then stroll through The Noland Trail.
