Big Pineapple

Explore hidden gems such as Lanikai Beach and USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park. Kids will appreciate attractions like Diamond Head State Monument and Sunset Beach Park. Get out of town with these interesting Honolulu side-trips: Waimea Valley (in Haleiwa) and Pu’u O Mahuka Heiau State Monument (in Pupukea). There's still lots to do: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour and stroll the grounds of National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

New York City to Honolulu is an approximately 12.5-hour flight. The time zone changes from Eastern Standard Time (EST) to Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HST), which is usually a -5 hour difference. In May, Honolulu is a bit warmer than New York City - with highs of 84°F and lows of 71°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Wed) to allow time to fly to Lahaina.
