Muscat — 2 nights

The capital and largest city of Oman, the coastal city of Muscat boasts numerous historical sites and pristine modern developments.
On the 8th (Fri), hunt for treasures at Mutrah Souq, then take in the dramatic natural features at Bimmah Sinkhole, and then stroll through Wadi Bani Khalid. Keep things going the next day: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, have unforgettable encounters with a shark diving experience, then see the interesting displays at Bait Al Zubair, and finally enjoy some music at Royal Opera House.

Doha, Qatar to Muscat is an approximately 5-hour flight. The time zone difference moving from Arabian Standard Time to Gulf Standard Time is 1 hour. Traveling from Doha in July, expect nights in Muscat to be about the same, around 36°C, while days are slightly colder, around 43°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sun) so you can catch the flight to Salalah.

You can fly from Muscat to Salalah in 4 hours. Other options are to drive; or take a bus. In July, Salalah is a bit cooler than Muscat - with highs of 32°C and lows of 29°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 12th (Tue) early enough to fly to Nizwa.

Nizwa — 1 night

Once the capital of the sultanate, Nizwa stands as one of the longest-established urban areas in the country, and has retained its traditional core.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Wed): step into the grandiose world of Jibreen Castle, then steep yourself in history at Bahla Fort, and then hunt for treasures at Nizwa Souk.

You can fly from Salalah to Nizwa in 4 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of bus and taxi. Traveling from Salalah in July, you can expect nighttime temperatures to be little chillier in Nizwa, with lows of 25°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 13th (Wed) early enough to drive to Al Hamra.

A lively provincial capital, Khasab has been termed the "Norway of Arabia," because of its dramatic coastline, where dramatic inlets resemble the fjords of Scandinavia.
Kick off your visit on the 14th (Thu): make a trip to Khasab Fort and then get up close to creatures of the deep with a dolphin and whale watching tour. Keep things going the next day: step into the grandiose world of Festung Cacapo.

Traveling by car from Ibri to Khasab takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of car, flight, and bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. In July, plan for daily highs up to 44°C, and evening lows to 38°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 15th (Fri) to allow enough time to fly back home.
