Gobustan — 1 night

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape (UNESCO Heritage) covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art.
Kick off your visit on the 20th (Fri): contemplate the long history of Diri Baba Mausoleum. Keep things going the next day: make a trip to Mud Volcanoes and then learn more about the world around you at Gobustan State Reserve.

Manama, Bahrain to Gobustan is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also drive. You'll lose 1 hour traveling from Manama to Gobustan due to the time zone difference.
