Rich in museums, restaurants, shops, and historical sites, Boston attracts over 16 million visitors each year.

Bring the kids along to Freedom Trail and North End. Step out of Boston with an excursion to Plimoth Patuxet Museums in Plymouth--about 54 minutes away. There's lots more to do: browse the different shops at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, wander the streets of Newbury Street, get lost in a book at John F. Kennedy Presidential Museum & Library, and observe the fascinating underwater world at New England Aquarium.

Old Fort to Boston is an approximately 14-hour car ride. While traveling from Old Fort, expect a bit cooler days and about the same nights in Boston, ranging from highs of 75°F to lows of 59°F. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 4th (Wed) to allow enough time to drive to Salem.

Best known for its 1692 witch trials, Salem has a number of significant historical sites, a bustling downtown, and many witch-themed attractions.

Traveling by car from Boston to Salem takes an hour. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. Plan for a bit cooler nights when traveling from Boston in October since evenings lows in Salem dip to 45°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 7th (Sat) early enough to go by car back home.
