Queensland’s biggest town and state capital, Brisbane has an attractive, manicured image based around its riverside aesthetic as well as the contrast between its high-rise center and extensive urban greenery.

Get out of town with these interesting Brisbane side-trips: The Brickworks Centre (in Southport), Warner Bros. Movie World (in Oxenford) and Surfers Paradise Beach (in Surfers Paradise). Spend the 2nd (Mon) exploring the fascinating underwater world at Sea World Theme Park. Pack the 7th (Sat) with family-friendly diversions at Dreamworld. There's much more to do: identify plant and animal life at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, get outside with Outdoor Activities, and walk around Roma Street Parkland.
