9 days in Lake Charles & Hampton Itinerary

Lake Charles is the fifth-largest incorporated city in the U.S. state of Louisiana, located on Lake Charles, Prien Lake, and the Calcasieu River. Start off your visit on the 2nd (Fri): tee off at Gray Plantation, then stroll around Prien Lake Park, then see the interesting displays at Mardi Gras Museum of Imperial Calcasieu, and finally examine the collection at 1911 Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center. On the next day, walk around Veteran's Memorial Park and then walk around Millennium Park.

Houston to Lake Charles is an approximately 2.5-hour car ride. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of bus and flight. In June, plan for daily highs up to 88°F, and evening lows to 73°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sat) so you can catch the flight to Hampton.

Hampton is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. You'll visit kid-friendly attractions like Boat Tours & Water Sports and Yorktown Battlefield. The time zone changes from Central Standard Time (CST) to Eastern Standard Time (EST), which is usually a 1 hour difference.
