Lancaster — 8 nights

Red Rose City

The heart of Pennsylvania's famous "Dutch Country," Lancaster is one of the nation's oldest inland cities, founded in 1730.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Historic Rock Ford and Food Tours. Change things up with a short trip to Wolf Sanctuary of PA in Lititz (about 34 minutes away). There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Historic St. Mary's Catholic Church, engage your brain at The Lancaster Science Factory, examine the collection at Biblical Tabernacle Experience, and find something for the whole family at Dutch Wonderland.

For where to stay, reviews, ratings, and more tourist information, read our Lancaster trip maker app.

Atlanta to Lancaster is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Traveling from Atlanta in October, things will get a bit cooler in Lancaster: highs are around 67°F and lows about 47°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Sat) to allow time to fly back home.
