Eureka is the principal city and county seat of Humboldt County in the Redwood Empire region of California. Step out of the city life by going to Hammond Trail and Redwood Highway. Step off the beaten path and head to Moonstone Beach and Fort Humboldt State Historic Park. There's much more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Samoa Dunes Recreation Area, get to know the resident critters at Sequoia Park, explore the landscape on two wheels at Hikshari Trail, and don't miss a visit to Trinidad Memorial and Memorial Lighthouse.
